This week, I shot a promotional video for the Life and Death Matters Film Festival (LADmatters). Soon, we’ll be posting a fund-raising call on Kickstarter.com, a forum for creative projects to raise money. I’ll post the link as soon as we’re up, and then I encourage everyone to please donate – as little as a dollar! – and to share the link with colleagues, friends, and family. We’re in high gear now, looking for films, educators, and even theatrical performances to fill out our amazing line up of events this September. The more I work on this project, the more inspired I become. I’ll be sharing my excitement with you as the festival grows and takes shape.
In the meantime, still hard at work on the military curriculum project, which I’ve been working on since last fall. I love the project! It’s in support of cross-cultural communication, an essential aspect of our country creating positive working relationships abroad.
Also, I’ll be doing some freelance work for InJoy Productions in the coming weeks, editing a birth story as part of the summer release of Pain Management in Labor, a two-volume program about both medical and non-medical pain relief techniques during childbirth.
And there’s more… I’ve been keeping busy playing marimba with Pick Up Sticks Marimba. We have a steady stream of upcoming gigs, and performing with the band (including my 17 year-old son Alex) is always an uplifting experience. We played for a wonderful group at the Arvada Center last Friday night and I saw many smiles and happy feet! Never heard marimba music? Check us out! Pick Up Sticks Marimba.com
